CRIME ALERTS- BURGLARIES/VEHICLE CRIME

Good morning Resident, 

We are asking residents to remain vigilant following a recent increase in residential burglaries and vehicle theft/interference reports in the area.

In the past week we have seen a noticeable increase in reports of unknown individuals attempting to gain access to homes and vehicles, often during the hours of darkness. In some cases, suspects have targeted insecure doors and smashed windows to gain access. 

What you can do:

🔹 Secure all doors and windows, even when at home.
🔹 Use steering locks and remove valuables from your vehicle.
🔹 Check that your vehicle is locked – some offenders are targeting vehicles using signal‑boosting methods or simply trying door handles.
🔹 Ensure garden gates, garages, and sheds are locked and consider sensor lighting or CCTV.
🔹 Report suspicious behaviour immediately – even small pieces of information help build a wider picture. Make a note of any descriptions of vehicle makes/models or persons loitering.

We will be conducting extra patrols in affected areas and working with local partners to identify those responsible.
